HP TouchPad Preparing for Final Encore in October

If you haven’t heard, HP is intending on serving up one last round of TouchPads in late October to help clear out their supplier inventories and [hopefully] appease a few of those who missed their chance in the fire sale last month.

The number of HP TouchPads said to be produced in the final batch is around 100,000–200,000.  That hardly seems like enough, as the fire sale left many with the bitter taste of disappointment after countless orders were cancelled due to the depleted inventory. Still, it’s better than nothing.

While the option to sign-up and be notified of TouchPad availability has crashed and burned, HP has been communicating with those who are interested in purchasing a TouchPad via Twitter (@BrynaatHP & @MarkatHP) and this HP Next Bench blog post.

In terms of pricing, we’re all hoping that HP will continue to sell them at the price of $99 for the 16GB version and $149 for the 32GB version. However, HP states retailers carry their own policy for price matching.
