FBI Arrests Alleged Hacker Behind Celebrity Email Break-ins

Hollywood StarEveryone rejoice! The FBI’s “Operation Hackerazzi” has been a success!

Today FBI authorities hauled away Christopher Chaney of Jacksonville, Florida following a year-long investigation of computer hacking that was targeting our beloved Hollywood stars.

The 35-year old has been keeping himself quite busy in recent months by welcoming himself to the email accounts of over 50 celebrities, including Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera (<3), Mila Kunis, Simone Harouche & “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” actress Renee Olstead.

Yes, he was the one that unleashed those compromising images of Scarlett Johansson onto the world. (Let this be a lesson not to store such sensitive imagery in your phone or email account!)

In addition to helping himself to servings of nudey goodness, Chaney also allegedly took movie scripts, conversations and identity information.

Apparently Chaney was using websites that celebrities used – including social media ones – in order to mine data that he could use in order to gain access to their email accounts.

Maybe you should think twice about spilling your life story to a complete stranger on the internet, huh? You never know what information can be turned around and used against you.

Christopher Chaney is set to appear in a Jacksonville court on Wednesday to face the federal charges against him: accessing protected computers without authorization, damaging protected computers without authorization and wiretapping and aggravated identity theft.

Should Chaney be convicted on all counts, he could face up to 121 years of federal prison jail time.
